Stable Club 6-12 year olds 4th March 4-5.30pm
This is a booking for a Stable Club session - a recreational social group for 6-12 year olds who love horses. The group is activity based where children learn about horses, their care and management, and about basic riding skills (walk mostly). We use therapeutic riding exercises and games to promote balance, good posture and confidence on horseback. The focus of the group is on sharing and helping each other and there will be 2-3 children per pony for the session to encourage learning from each other and positive social interaction. The group takes place in any weather. Some sessions will be spend riding less and learning more about horses as well as handling horses safely from the ground. We explore the farm and carry out farming chores together, we also spend some time with the horses and on horseback, and there will be indoor as well as outdoor games. Our approach is child-centred, and we support each child individually and at their own pace. We focus on offering meaningful tasks to children where they can build a relationship with the animals and the land, learn about farming and get a sense of responsibility and achievement. An inclusive camp for children aged 3-8 years who love animals and the outdoors, run by experienced tutors with a child-centred approach to support each child individually to participate at their own pace. The mornings will be spent with our farm animals and horses. We will meet all the farm animals and care for them, and we will also care for our horses and get to ride them.
