Events

Below is a list of all our upcoming Events. Click the orange link to submit an application for a particular event. If you wish to enter more than one event then enter your first event now and then simply come back to this section as required before finally checking out and paying.

Uisce ÁlainnUisce Álainn is an event led by Medb’s Dragon Warriors and supported by the ATU Power To Change project. A participatory distance paddle event held on the Garavogue River and Lough Gill. It is open to Dragon Boats, Kayakers, and Rowers, promoting three key themes: 1. Blue Mental Health 2. Code of Conduct on the Water 3. River Environment and Ecosystem. The event will commence from 11-12noon with a Wakening the Dragon & Flower Ceremony remembering those who have passed from cancer. Then up the Garavogue river and on to Lough Gill over 2-3hrs with closing ceremony between approx 4-6pm to incl food and live music. The public will be invited to partake in an educational walk along the riverbank between 12-2pm, concluding with light refreshments at the Gate Lodge Café. This walk will provide an opportunity to learn about the local ecosystem and the importance of preserving it. Event entry is €25pp. Please email medbsdragonwarriors@gmail.com with any enquiries or if entering a Dragon Boat team (14-16 pad. Note entries are not open for this event.

Annual membership. Associate members are those who do not wish to paddle but contribute to the club through, for example, shore based activities or skippering the safety boat €30.00 (plus handling fee)
